The ADA and Related Service Animal Regulations with Jeminie Shell

In this presentation we will review several laws covering the rights and obligations of service animal handlers. We will then delve deeper into the Americans with Disabilities Act and how that applies in state and local government settings. We will have Q&A about service animals in the courts and in public.
Presenter Bio:
Jeminie Shell is a Disability Specialist with the New Mexico Governor’s Commission on Disability, working in the Disability Awareness and Advocacy program. She provides technical assistance and trainings regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act and other disability-related laws and topics to state and local governments, businesses, and the public. She is a Certified ADA Coordinator and at the GCD she manages programs such as the ADA Coordinator Certification program and the Quality of Life Grant. In her role at the GCD she is also responsible for technical assistance on topics such as service animals, higher education, Titles II and III of the ADA, adaptive sports, emergency preparedness, and hospitality and tourism. She has over 15 years of experience working in program development and advocacy with an emphasis on social justice.
